Hi there,
I'm Barley "The Bottomless" Brewfoot!
About Me
Barley didn’t choose the brewery life; the brewery life chose him. For decades, he was a standard ceramic garden gnome, trapped in the flowerbed of a rigid, traditionalist homebrewer. Every weekend, Barley would watch his owner brew beer through the basement window, forced to stare at the same patch of grass while catching only faint, tantalizing whiffs of boiling hops. The breaking point came the day his owner accidentally spilled a freshly transferred, crisp West Coast Pilsner onto the lawn. The liquid seeped into the soil, touched Barley’s porcelain boots, and brought him instantly to life. He realized right then that life was too short to stand in the dirt. Barley is an absolute chameleon of the craft beer world. He doesn't believe in "beer snobbery." He starts his mornings at coastal microbreweries, appreciating the clean, bubbly physics of a light lager. By midnight, he is huddled near a barrel-aging cave in the Midwest, nursing a 14% ABV chocolate-coffee stout that is bigger than he is. His ultimate life motto is simple: If it pours, it scores. Barley is infamous among bartenders for his disappearing act. Because he is only a foot tall, he uses brewery coasters as steps to climb onto barstools. If you leave your flight unattended for thirty seconds, you might return to find Barley floating on a tiny custom raft right in the middle of your stout sample, taking notes on a waterproof notepad. He finances his cross-country travels by trading rare brewery stickers, which he keeps plastered all over his iconic, dented tin travel mug.
